He is able to make it work well enough for our purposes. The gloves are a bit problematic because they are long and it's hard for him to get his fingers all the way down into the finger holes but it's more of an annoyance and the gloves could be easily replaced with other types of gloves if necessary. The material seems sturdy and the costume looks really good on him. My almost 12-year-old is able to wear the size Large (14) that I purchased fairly comfortably, though the sleeves are a little difficult for him to get his arms into because the rest of the gown doesn't have any wiggle room. I ordered one size up as suggested and it was the right choice to make. I read the reviews on this costume before purchasing and I am glad that I did. And, who knows, when your kiddo enjoys their time with this plague doctor look, they might even want to head into modern medicine, too!
